Kelowna Child Care Society provides a variety of information and services for families. Our trained staff are available to help you with your parenting questions and concerns. We also offer a variety of information and services for child care providers. Are you seeking childcare for your family? PARENT SERVICES
The following information and services are offered through the Kelowna Child Care Society & Child Care Resource & Referral Program.
CHILD CARE REFERRALS
- Free Child Care Referrals service to screened child care providers and facilities.
- Information about location, fees, hours of care, available spaces, specialized services and child care program characteristics.
- Free Website service www.kelownachildcare.com to assist parents with locating child care in your community as well as helpful information links.
INFORMATION ABOUT:
- Child and parent related community resources.
- Workshop opportunities for parents.
- Child Care Subsidy.
MEMBERSHIP SERVICES FOR FAMILIES
Current annual membership is $30. Members receive:
- Bi-monthly newsletter
- Access to our community toy lending library for children from birth to 12 years of age.
- Access to parenting information resources.
- In-office or telephone consultation regarding general parenting issues.
- Free issue of our Okanagan Parent Magazine.
KCCS CENTRAL OKANAGAN FAMILY RESOURCE PROGRAM
- Parent/child drop-in program offered at two locations: The Martin Avenue Community Centre (1435 Graham) and the Parent Place (630 Cadder Avenue).
- Free parent/child drop-in program for parents (three mornings a week)
- No registration required
- Opportunities to connect with other parents.
- Sessions facilitated by an Early Childhood Educator.
HOME BASED EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
- Screening service and home setting review for individuals who wish to provide child care in their home.
- Information regarding home day care set up and tax write-offs.
- Training and professional development opportunities.
- Support visits and consultation services.
- Infant/toddler equipment lending.
- Toy lending library for children from birth to 12 years.
- Netowrking social activities.
